David Garber, DMD, of Goldstein, Garber, and Salama recently received the Thomas Evans Achievement Award, presented by the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine Alumni Society Executive Committee.
As the Alumni Society’s highest award of recognition, the Thomas Evans Achievement Award honors alumni who have shown innovation, excellence, and leadership in the profession of oral health care, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Garber is considered to be a role model to be studied, a person who has inspired others in his profession to reach greater heights.
“As a University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine graduate, I am truly honored to receive such a prestigious award from my alma mater,” said Dr. Garber. “The Thomas Evans Achievement Award is a significant milestone in my career, and it means so much to me to be named as a leading professional in my industry.”
Originally born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dr. Garber served in the Rand Light Infantry prior to becoming a dentist. He graduated with post-doctoral training in both Periodontics and Fixed Prosthodontics, a rare and admired accomplishment, to provide patients with a one-stop diagnosis and treatment facility. Prior to joining Goldstein, Garber and Salama, Dr. Garber was Director of Fixed Prosthodontics and Clinical Professor of Periodontics as well as Restorative Dentistry. He was also in Private Practice with Drs. Morton, Amsterdam and Arnold Weisgold.
“I am so humbled,” said Dr. Garber. “Dentistry is my passion, and I am so thankful that I am able to do something I love each and every day.”
Dr. Garber will be accepting the Thomas Evans Achievement Award on Friday, May 11, during the reception portion of the Penn Dental Medicine Reunion Celebration. Festivities begin at 5pm.
