Dr. Theresa
Jarmuz began her higher education in Boston, Massachusetts
where she received her Bachelors degree with honors, magna
cum laude, in Psychology from Boston University. Dr. Jarmuz then returned to her
hometown of Buffalo, New York to attend the University at
Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where
she obtained her M.D. degree. Her postgraduate training in
General Surgery was completed through the Emory University
affiliated hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia. Following this,
she also completed her surgical subspecialty training through
Emory University in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

During her training at Emory, Dr. Jarmuz developed a strong
interest in plastic surgery of the face, head and neck. Due
to her interest and background, she was chosen for a Fellowship
in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and received
one of only 37 positions nationwide. During this Fellowship,
her entire experience was in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery
of the nose, eyes, face, head and neck. Following her fellowship,
she joined Dr. Wallace K. Dyer at Buckhead Facial Plastic
Surgery.
Dr. Jarmuz has been actively involved in teaching Facial
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to the Residents at the
Emory University School of Medicine, where she holds an academic
appointment of Clinical Instructor in the department of Otolaryngology (Head
and Neck Surgery). She has won awards for her research in wound-healing
and injectable fillers and has authored multiple publications
and lectured nationally.
Dr. Jarmuz is Board Certified by The American Board of Otolaryngology
and Board Certified by The American
Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is
a member of The American Medical Association, The American
Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, The
American Academy of Otolaryngology,
The Atlanta Medical Women's Alliance, and The Medical Association
of Georgia.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs. She is also in active training for her first triathlon.
