Here at our facility, we are pleased to be the first dental office in the state of Georgia to have its own CAT Scan unit, provided to us by i-CAT of Philadelphia, USA.  This CAT Scan utilizes 3- cone imaging in a normal setting much like routine dental-style radiographs.  Its 10 to 20 second exposure limits the amount of radiation to significantly less than that of a hospital CAT Scan unit.  We therefore can receive immediate digital formatting of information in 3D, rather than the historical 2D dental radiographic technology, which was the standard for dentistry over the past years. 

Utilizing this information, we can then format software to create a 3D facial mask of the patient showing the jaws, teeth, and skin that will allow us to appropriately coordinate a treatment plan for any and all orthodontic, cosmetic, orthopedic, oral surgical or trauma cases.  This technology will become the standard in dentistry over the next 5 to 10 years and we are glad to be able to offer it to our patients today.  Please feel free to contact one of our staff members, who can provide you with a tour of our facility, including a viewing of our CAT Scan machine and a description of its utilization, as well as answer any questions you may have.  You may visit www.i-cat.com for further information on this fascinating style of 3D imaging.
